The Climate Foundation has developed a method of marine permaculture, as an answer to the massive decline of primary productivity in the aquatic food chain. This rate in which plants can convert carbon into organic material is heavily impacted upon by global ocean warming, which hinders upwelling of nutrients for plankton growth – food source for many fish.
